Vikram Phadnis, India’s leading designer did his directorial debut with ‘Hrudayantar’ in 2017 starring Mukta Barve and Subodh Bhave in the lead roles. The fine director is back with his lead actress Mukta to touch hearts again with another issue that every struggling soul in the audience will relate to, with his movie ‘Smile Please’.

‘Smile Please’ is the journey of Nandini Joshi, (played by Mukta Barve) who is an award winning photographer. Being a mother of an adolescent daughter and a wife of an ever-busy husband (played by Prasad Oak), Nandini struggles to find her dignity and purpose amidst her mid-life crisis. This is when a young man, Viraj, (played by Lalit Prabhakar) enters her life and guides her along a new path. The film sends out a beautiful message saying, ‘when nothing else works, smile please!’



Vikram was known for roping in Bollywood stars for cameos but his new anthem for the movie ‘Smile please’ has taken his multi-starrer cameo to another level. There are more than 30 prominent faces from the Marathi industry in this video including Urmila Matondkar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Bhushan Pradhan, Chinmay Mandlekar, Chinmayi Sumit, Renuka Shahane, Harshada Khanvilkar, Sharad Kelkar, Megha Dhade, Siddharth Chandekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Mrunmayee Godbole, Prarthana Behere, Priya Bapat, Umesh Kamat, Pushkar Shrotri, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Sai Lokur, Mitali Mayekar, Sagarika Ghatge, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sonali Khare, Spruha Joshi, Tejaswini Pandit, Manasi Naik and Vaibhav Tatvawadi.

The song celebrates the spirit of all the people who are fighting a daily battle but have the courage to get up and face the world. ‘The Smile Please’ lead stars Mukta, Lalit and Prasad alongside these celebs and director Vikram are seen in the anthem as well.

This beautiful and encouraging composition is penned by lyricist Mandar Cholkar and composed by the musician duo Rohan-Rohan. Avadhoot Gupte, Mugdha Karhade, Bela Shende, Rohan Pradhan, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Gwen Dias are the voices behind the anthem. Not only this, choreography is done by Bollywood’s favorite choreographers Bosco-Caeser.

The anthem ‘Chal Pudhe Chal Tu’ has been creating a buzz on the social media and is receiving a huge response across all mediums. The excitement to watch this beautiful masterpiece on the silver screen will end soon as the movie is releasing on 19th July.
